Hi, I’m Janske Dekkers, a soon-to-be graduate of Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD). Throughout my studies, I’ve explored a wide range of creative disciplines, ultimately finding my passion in storytelling through video and film. I love translating concepts into engaging visual narratives, capturing emotions, and connecting with audiences.
I’m a conceptual thinker, always curious and eager to learn new things. I find inspiration everywhere and enjoy experimenting with fresh ideas, whether it’s through hands-on projects or diving into new creative techniques.
PROJECTS
As part of my studies, I was given the assignment to design a generative identity for TEDxDelft. Inspired by the slogan “Let’s make”, I started working with bolts and nuts.
The red-highlighted elements each represent a shop or building on the map of Delft. For each speaker, different bolts and nuts light up.
For example, if a speaker talks about clothing, textiles, or a related topic, the large nut — associated with a prominent location on the map — becomes the central element of the visual identity. It lights up red on the map and also features prominently in other materials.
This approach creates a beautiful generative connection between the theme, “Let’s make”, and the city of Delft.
